The Gene Doyle Memorial Foundation

The Gene Doyle Memorial Foundation was created to honor the memory and adventurous spirit of Robert Eugene “Gene” Doyle, III (1976-1996).

Each year, the foundation awards three Gene Doyle Adventure Scholarships, which help deserving Collier County students to undertake the adventures of their dreams. Click for more information, including 2018 details and deadlines.

Adventure Scholarships are supported by proceeds from the annual Gene Doyle Backcountry Catch and Release Fishing Tournament. The Gene Doyle Memorial Foundation, Inc., is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.

The annual Gene Doyle Fishing Tournament emerged as a perfect fundraising event for the Gene Doyle Adventure Scholarship, where anglers target redfish, snook and trout and compete for 21 top prizes,.

Simply put, it is the goal of the Gene Doyle Memorial Foundation to keep Gene’s spirit alive by cultivating and supporting kindred spirits who share his love of life and nature.

The 21st Annual Gene Doyle Backcountry Release Fishing Tournament will be held April 27, 28 & 29, 2018.

Friday, April 27, 2018
7 pm – Anglers’ and Captains’ Meetings and Kickoff Party @ Sunshine Ace Hardware – downtown Store

Saturday, April 28, 2018
7 am – 2:30 pm – Fishing Day 1 from respective launch sites
2017 -There will be no Score Posting Party Saturday evening – scores will be updated online
